Entrance to the MSI 40th Anniversary Exhibition at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei
As part of my visit to Computex 2026 in Taipei courtesy of the folks over at MSI, I had the opportunity to check out MSI's "40th Anniversary Exhibition" that runs from 4th June 2026 to 7th June 2026. Held in Warehouse 5 of the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park in Taipei, the exhibition seeks to commemorate MSI's rich history and achievements over the past 40 years, while looking to its future plans and beyond in today's AI-driven world of consumer electronics and business computing. The exhibition comprises eight zones, each detailing specific focus areas in MSI's history, legacy, its present achievements, as well as its goals for the future.
Zone 1: Pilot Portal
Upon entering the exhibition, visitors are treated to an immersive one-minute video experience that pays tribute to the past 40 years of MSI's growth trajectory, and the brand's plans for the future.
Zone 2: Data Legacy
The Data Legacy zone charts MSI's history from 1986 to 2026 and beyond, where it highlights key product milestones in the brand's 40 years of business. In this regard, one can expect showcases of select MSI PC hardware and laptops through the years, legacy and modern alike.
In case you're wondering, MSI was founded by the five gentlemen that you can see above: Henry Lu, Jeans Huang, Joseph Hsu, Frank Lin and Kenny Yu.
In this zone, retro PC fans can gawk at a selection of legacy MSI motherboards, such as the K7 Pro Slot A motherboard and the 865PE Neo2 Socket 478 motherboard.
MSI's first 3D graphics card was the MS-4412, an AGP 1x card with 8MB of SGRAM that was powered by the Texas Instruments Permedia GPU - this card unfortunately wasn't physically showcased in the graphics card section, and was represented by a placard instead.
We've also got a selection of laptops from MSI's range over the years...
...and did you know? MSI's first laptop offering was the MEGABOOK M510C, which was powered by Intel's Pentium M mobile processors, and was equipped with either an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 or 9700 mobile GPU.
The rest of the "Data Legacy" zone showcases a snapshot of the brand's more recent product offerings, spanning the likes of modern laptops. monitors and even electric vehicle (EV) chargers.
Zone 3: Origin Core
The third zone of the exhibition, "Origin Core", shines the spotlight on MSI's design and manufacturing processes across its various product line-ups.
An exhibit that details the manufacturing and painting process of the cooling shrouds found on some of MSI's recent graphics card collaborations, such as the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Frieren Edition and the GeForce RTX 5070 World of Warcraft Midnight Light Edition.
This section's sure to please the geekiest of DIY PC enthusiasts, who might marvel at the engineering processes and effort that go into motherboard manufacture.
At the end of the "Origin Core" zone, visitors can participate in a digital "PC assembly challenge" that rewards participants with limited edition merchandise.
Zone 4: Synergy Nexus
The fourth exhibition zone, "Synergy Nexus", puts on full display MSI's various product branding partnerships that have culminated in eye-catching special editions, targeted at collectors and fans alike.
"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is a popular Japanese manga franchise, and MSI's partnered with Frieren's creators to release a series of special Frieren-themed products, such as the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16G FRIEREN EDITION OC graphics card, the Forge TKL Wireless Frieren Edition keyboard and the Versa Wireless Frieren Edition gaming mouse.
Fans of the iconic "Toy Story' franchise can also check out a PC built with special-edition Toy Story-themed components, featuring beloved characters such as Woody and Buzz Lightyear.
Motorsports buffs might know that MSI partnered with the Mercedes-AMG Motorsport team to produce limited-edition premium laptops with racing-inspired aesthetics, and at the exhibition, visitors will also get their chance to try out a racing simulator setup to test their sim racing chops.
Other noteworthy collaborations on display include MSI's collaboration with gaming titles "Monster Hunter", the "World of Warcraft" game franchise, the "Evangelion" Japanese mecha anime franchise, as well as "Loong:Nia", an anime-style character created by MSI with a dragon-inspired mythical lore.
Zone 5: Business Domain
As its name implies, the “Business Domain” zone of the exhibition showcases product offerings designed for the home office and commercial office environments, such as MSI’s PRO MAX line-up of monitors, PC components and pre-built PCs targeted at students and professionals alike.
Zone 6: Esports Arena
Fans of PC gaming won’t want to miss out on the sixth zone of the exhibition, aptly named “Esports Arena”, where between 5 June till 7 June, gaming influencers will also be on-site and hosting live fan challenges.
The “Lightning”, “Suprim”, “Vanguard” and “Gaming Trio” are four of MSI’s gaming-oriented graphics cards line-ups, with the GeForce RTX 5090 32G Lighting Z being MSI’s current flagship graphics card product.
MSI’s Claw 8 AI+ is also on showcase, where visitors can try their hand at gaming on MSI’s latest handheld gaming device that's powered by Intel's Arc G3 Extreme processor.
Also on display are select hardware from MSI’s MEG (flagship), MPG (premium) and MAG (mainstream) line-ups of gaming PC hardware components.
Zone 7: AI Lab
Artificial intelligence (AI)’s been the talk of the town, and unsurprisingly, MSI’s devoted the seventh zone of the exhibition titled “AI Lab” to its pursuits in this field.
On showcase is MSI’s EdgeXpert, an enterprise-grade edge AI platform that allows businesses to run AI models locally without relying entirely on the cloud, as well as AI server offerings.
Colour me surprised when I learnt that MSI produces electric vehicle (EV) chargers too – the brand’s got its EcoPremium AC charger that delivers up to 11kW of charge, and the EZgo portable charger that’s capable of delivering up to 7kW of charge.
Zone 8: Glory Monument
The final zone of the exhibition’s named “Glory Monument”, where it showcases MSI’s limited-edition “Draco Epic” line-up that was created specially to commemorate the brand’s 40th anniversary. Visitors can also visit the "Supply Hub" located in this final zone to obtain refreshments free-of-charge (until stocks run out), and to redeem rewards from completing a stamp card rally – stamps can be obtained at each of the preceding exhibition zones. Finally, "Trade Exchange" is MSI’s on-site official merchandise store that's located within the same Glory Monument zone, where visitors can purchase exclusive MSI 40th anniversary memorabilia.
If it suits your fancy, you can leave a message on a larger-than-life MSI logo sculpture situated within the Glory Monument zone too.
MSI’s “Draco Epic” line-up was created to commemorate the brand’s 40th anniversary, and products from this line-up feature an alluring blue colourway with an ornate dragon motif, with products such as the flagship MEG MAESTRO 900R DRACO EPIC PC case.
And yes, you can get these delicious egg cakes in the shape of MSI's "Lucky" mascot, made freshly on the spot at Supply Hub, and totally free-of-charge. Yum.
